            <h2>About the role</h2><p>Join the University of Bath as a Senior Security Officer and use your experience to lead a team and help keep our students, staff and visitors safe.</p><p>This is a hands-on leadership role where you&#39;ll be trusted to take charge, make decisions and lead from the front. You&#39;ll supervise a team of Security Officers, respond to incidents and emergencies, support people during challenging situations, and work alongside the emergency services when required.</p><p>No two shifts are the same. From managing critical incidents and welfare concerns to overseeing patrols, CCTV, access control and campus security, you&#39;ll play a key role in creating a safe, supportive and welcoming University community.</p><p>Please do review the rota via the link at the bottom of the advert, along with the job description, for full details.</p><h2 id="isPasted">About you</h2><p id="isPasted">You&#39;ll be someone who:</p><ul><li>Leads confidently, motivates others and works well as part of a team.</li><li>Remains calm under pressure, uses sound judgement and handles challenging situations professionally.</li><li>Communicates effectively, demonstrates integrity and empathy, and has strong problem-solving and report-writing skills.</li></ul><p>A full UK driving licence is essential. You&rsquo;ll need an SIA Door Supervisor licence and First Aid at Work qualification. If you do not have these, we will provide these as part of your training. It is an excellent opportunity for applicants looking to support students and staff within a Higher Education setting.</p><p>No two days are the same in this role, providing plenty of opportunities to develop new skills through hands-on experience and a range of training courses, including CCTV training, First Line Supervisor training and ASIST training.</p><p>Together with a team of security staff, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout both campus and City campus, including student accommodation and other University Buildings.</p><p><strong>About you</strong></p><p>We&rsquo;re looking for someone who can make a real difference to our students.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll be someone who:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Communicates clearly and genuinely with students and colleagues</li><li>Provides understanding, support, and outstanding customer service, especially in a pastoral care role</li><li>Is confident using computers and can write clear, accurate reports</li><li>Can plan and prioritise when things get busy or conflicting demands arise</li><li>Holds a valid UK driving licence for manual vehicles</li><li>Stays calm and effective when dealing with challenging situations</li><li>Enjoys working as part of a team to solve problems together</li></ul><p><strong>Further information</strong></p><p>The position covers the main University campus and City campus buildings off site.</p><p>The basic working week is of 38.5 hours (which includes 2 hours contracted overtime).
