We want you to use your personality to make customers feel like this is a home from home!</p><h2><strong>About us</strong></h2><p>The <a href="https://www.teambath.com/fitness/our-gym/">Team Bath Gym and Fitness Centre</a> is a unique environment aimed to target the student population, athletes and the general public.</p><p>The Health &amp; Fitness provision has recently undergone a substantial expansion leading to a new larger gym designed to cater for the growing membership base. In addition to the gym there are two purpose-built studios to hold in excess of 100 classes per week.</p><p>This is an opportunity to become part of a professional and progressive organisation at the leading edge of sport, health and fitness. We pride ourselves on upholding excellent customer service and delivering fun, energetic and motivational group classes. Excellent communication skills with a genuine passion to help people get results is essential to the role.</p><h2><strong>About you</strong></h2><p>You are required to hold a minimum Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification and will be required to gain Level 3 PT qualification within 6 months.             <p id="isPasted">Join a dynamic and ambitious university performance sport environment where you&rsquo;ll play a vital role in helping talented student-athletes achieve their full potential through world-class strength and conditioning support!</p><h2><strong>About the role</strong></h2><p>As an Athletic Performance Coach, you will be embedded within a collaborative, interdisciplinary performance team, working closely with coaches, physiotherapists, and sport science practitioners to deliver an integrated and athlete-centred approach to development.</p><p>In this role, you will design, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based strength and conditioning programmes across a diverse range of sports, supporting both individual athletes and teams.</p><p>Your work will directly contribute to enhancing performance, reducing injury risk, and supporting long-term athlete development within a high-performance system. You&rsquo;ll have the opportunity to work with athletes at different stages of their journey, including those within the Student Performance Sport Programme, national governing body (NGB) partnerships, and Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) athletes.</p><p>Beyond programme delivery, you&rsquo;ll contribute to creating a high-quality training environment that reflects best practice in athlete preparation. This includes monitoring performance, managing training loads, and maintaining strong communication with key stakeholders to ensure a cohesive support network around each athlete. You will also play an active role in maintaining professional standards, contributing to team processes, and supporting continuous improvement across the programme.</p><p>This role sits within a wider vision to provide an outstanding dual-career environment, enabling student-athletes to thrive both academically and athletically. It offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated practitioner to develop their expertise, contribute to a progressive performance culture, and make a meaningful impact in a sector that values collaboration, mastery, purpose and taking pride in what we do. &nbsp;</p><h2><strong>About you</strong></h2><p>We are looking for a motivated and collaborative practitioner who can deliver high-quality strength and conditioning support within a performance sport environment.</p><p>You should have</p><ul type="disc"><li>proven experience delivering strength and conditioning to performance athletes and coaches</li><li>experience designing, implementing, and monitoring evidence-based training programmes across a range of sports</li><li>strong applied knowledge of key principles such as periodisation, injury prevention, recovery, and performance optimisation</li><li>a degree in sport science (or equivalent experience) with a focus on the physical preparation of athletes is required</li><li>UKSCA accreditation (or ability to achieve within 6 months)</li></ul><h2><strong>Further information</strong></h2><p>This is a full-time role (36.5 hours per week) for a fixed-term period of 2 years.</p><p>Working in University Performance Sport Programmes will require flexible working hours in line with sport/athlete training schedules. This will include early morning, evening, and weekend work.
