            <p id="isPasted">The Department of Sports Development &amp; Recreation wish to appoint a Community Tennis Coach to create excitement and sell Tennis to potential players across the county and region.</p><p>The primary focus of the role will be the delivery of group tennis coaching sessions to players on our community tennis programme.&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>Programme Overview</strong></h2><p><a href="https://www.teambath.com/sport/tennis/">Team Bath Tennis</a> is one of the UK&rsquo;s leading integrated tennis programmes, offering a complete pathway for players of all ages and abilities within a single, connected performance environment. Based at the University of Bath, the programme brings together recreational players, ambitious student athletes, developing juniors, and elite performers under a coordinated structure designed to deliver excellence, community, and competitive success.</p><p>Core features include:</p><ul type="disc"><li>A Complete Player Pathway &ndash; from Mini Tennis and club coaching to academy, university performance squads, and international competition</li><li>A Dual Performance Environment &ndash; blending the University&rsquo;s elite sport culture with a thriving community club, supported by world class facilities and coaching expertise.</li><li>Highly Qualified Coaching &amp; Leadership &ndash; covering performance, development, participation, S&amp;C, and programme operations.</li><li>A Commitment to Inclusion &amp; Growth &ndash; making tennis accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for players at every level.</li></ul><p>Team Bath Tennis continues to grow as a model programme - balancing professionalism, pathway clarity, and an athlete centred ethos to serve its university, community, and performance audiences with equal strength.</p><h2><strong>About you</strong></h2><p>You will be an experienced tennis coach with:</p><ul type="disc"><li>a tennis coaching qualification</li><li>extensive knowledge and experience of mini and junior tennis and/or club coaching</li><li>excellent communication skills</li><li>enthusiasm with a passion for developing young people within the sport of tennis.</li></ul><p>Our mandate is to introduce Tennis to all abilities and develop them to a county, regional &amp; national level. We&rsquo;re looking for someone to actively participate with us in this mission.</p><h2><strong>Further information</strong></h2><p>The Programme runs for 42 weeks of the year with an additional 10 weeks of holiday camps.             <p id="isPasted">As a Sports Assistant you will play a vital role within our team, carrying out the day-to-day front of house operation of all Sports facilities and associated areas, so that we can provide indoor and outdoor activities and events for students, university staff, the local community and high-performance athletes.</p><p>This is a great position to learn and develop basic skills within a sporting environment where you will get to work alongside high-performance athletes, many of whom compete in the Summer and Winter Olympics.</p><h2><strong>About the role</strong></h2><p>Your main responsibilities will consist of</p><ul type="disc"><li>lifeguarding</li><li>setting up indoor and outdoor activities</li><li>setting up events</li><li>assisting with general enquiries from customers</li><li>responding to ad hoc requests for support</li></ul><p>You will also be involved in patrolling facilities, security, cleanliness, health and safety and emergency procedures.</p><h2><strong>About us</strong></h2><p>The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the University of Bath manages and organises a range of activities under the University&rsquo;s sports brand - <a href="https://www.teambath.com/">Team Bath</a>. &nbsp;The Department aspires to create a world leading multi-sport environment providing activities, services and facilities for students, university staff, the local community and high-performance athletes.</p><p>In addition, we are recognised by UK Sport as one of only six Elite Training Centres, providing the training base for around 250 international level athletes. This is an opportunity to become part of a professional and progressive organisation at the leading edge of sport, health and fitness.</p><h2><strong>Further information</strong></h2><p>You will need good interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team and enjoy working varied hours.&nbsp;</p><p>You will work an average of 36.5 hours per week over in a shift rota with the other Sports Assistants which will include early mornings, evenings and weekends covering all hours of operation between 05:45 and 22:30 weekdays and 07:30 to 19:30 weekends.&nbsp;</p><p>Due to the working hours and pattern of this role, this role is only suitable for those aged 18 years and over.</p><p>Part of this role involves lifeguarding duties and therefore you will need to have a lifeguarding (NPLQ) qualification.
