            <p id="isPasted">As a Student Support Officer (SSO) you will play a key role in supporting students to successfully complete their studies; engaging with students to support their learning experience from induction through to graduation.</p><h2 id="isPasted">About the role</h2><p>This is a busy and varied role which requires you to be in regular communication with academic colleagues, professional staff, and students in the relevant academic department/faculty as well as central support services and the Students Union.&nbsp;</p><p>Working alongside academic and professional service staff, you will contribute to an effective integrated support system within the relevant academic department(s) to identify students at risk of not succeeding, utilising the internal processes/services available.&nbsp;</p><p>You will need to communicate persuasively and sensitively to help support students&rsquo; welfare and progression, in liaison with academic colleagues.             <p>This is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced operational support expert to join our vibrant, dynamic Faculty team!</p><h2><strong id="isPasted">About the role</strong></h2><p>Working within a collaborative team of four Department Operations Managers, you will provide high level operational support to departmental senior academic leadership in delivering University and Faculty strategic priorities at the local, department level. This includes oversight of the day to day operations of your nominated department/s as well as exciting projects in areas such as community and culture, staff wellbeing, internationalisation and events including Open Days and Offer Holder Days.&nbsp;</p><p>As a leader of our Department Support Hub Team, you will provide outstanding leadership to a team of highly dedicated administrative coordination staff and contribute proactively and collaboratively to our Faculty Team Managers Group.&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>About you&nbsp;</strong></h2><p>To succeed in this dynamic role, you&rsquo;ll need to be proactive, highly organised, and customer-focused, delivering top-quality support to stakeholders across the Department, Faculty, and University.</p><p>You will be a change-driven, a team player and generous leader who inspires others to reach their fullest potential in support of our Faculty&#39;s world-leading academic endeavours in Architecture &amp; Civil Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.</p><h2><strong>Further information</strong></h2><p>This role is offered on a part-time basis working 21.9 hours per week (0.6 FTE), for a fixed-term from September 2026 - July 2029.             <p id="isPasted">Enhancing the student experience and outcomes is a core strategic priority for the University of Bath and we are now seeking to appoint an experienced Department Strategic Manager (Student Experience).</p><p>The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is ambitious and committed to further strengthening the quality, consistency and sustainability of the student experience. This role represents a targeted investment to support that ambition, ensuring that improvement activity is well coordinated, evidence-based and capable of being sustained over the longer term.</p><h2>About the role</h2><p>You will be embedded within the Department and will take a strategic lead in developing a clear, prioritised and realistic long-term action plan to enhance the student experience. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, the role will focus on coordinating activity, aligning priorities and translating insight into practical and sustainable action.</p><p>A key outcome of the appointment will be to ensure that the action plan is fully developed, clearly communicated and owned by the Department, so that it is ready to be taken forward by colleagues beyond the end of the fixed-term period.</p><p>This is a strategic and enabling role, designed to create the conditions, structures and shared understanding needed to support sustained improvement over the medium to long term.</p><p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Analyse student experience data and existing initiatives to identify key themes, risks and opportunities.</li><li>Design and coordinate a coherent, evidence-informed improvement programme that aligns with University strategy and regulatory expectations.</li><li>Develop a practical, long-term action plan with clear ownership, milestones and measures of success.</li><li>Support colleagues to embed new ways of working and transition activity into business-as-usual delivery.</li><li>Coordinate communication, reporting and engagement to ensure transparency and shared understanding across the Department.</li></ul><h2><strong>Further information&nbsp;</strong></h2><p>This role is offered on a part-time basis, working 21.9 hours per week (0.6 FTE) for a fixed-term period until July 2027.
