We’re looking for an Enterprise Solutions Architect to join our Technology Delivery & Advice team. This is an important role, where you’ll co-create technology solutions that serve the needs of our digital projects, ensuring they’re sustainable, secure, and aligned with the University's long term goals.

You’ll work closely with people from across the University to understand their needs, guide decision-making, and co-create solutions that are meaningful. As well as shaping how technology is applied, you’ll also help build our shared architecture standards — contributing to a consistent, scalable, and people-centred approach across our technology landscape.

We’re keen to hear from people bring both technical insight and a solid sense of purpose. You’ll have:

• Demonstrable experience of designing and delivering enterprise-level solutions using SaaS, PaaS, COTS, and customised applications
• Hands-on experience with integration patterns, cloud architecture, data flow, and designing for security and resilience
• Established capability of a broad technology landscape, including cloud-based services, off-the-shelf systems, and custom applications
• A people-focused approach to technology — you’re as comfortable listening and engaging as you are designing
• Applied knowledge of translating business requirements into scalable, sustainable architecture and effective solutions
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
• A dedication to equity, accessibility, and inclusive design in digital services
• A curiosity about shaping architecture practices and well-developed skills in embracing sophisticated architecture standards, design governance, or technology strategy

• This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis. 
• This role includes a market supplement of £8,000 in addition to the base salary scale. The total salary range displayed above reflects the base salary plus market supplement.

The Digital Portfolio Director will lead the University of Bath’s Digital Foundations Portfolio—a £20–30 million, five-year transformational programme that underpins the University’s strategic priorities and impacts every department and function. This is a rare opportunity to define and deliver digital transformation at scale, shaping how technology, people, and processes come together to create a connected, innovative, and future-ready institution.

In this role, you will:

• Set the vision and operating model for digital transformation, building frameworks and governance from the ground up.
• Lead a complex portfolio spanning research computing, education technology, student and staff experience platforms, and foundational infrastructure.
• Drive measurable benefits, ensuring projects deliver tangible improvements to staff and student experiences.
• Engage senior leadership and stakeholders, managing relationships across diverse groups and key third-party partners such as Infosys.

You have a proven track record of designing and delivering organisation-wide change programmes in large, complex environments, underpinned by expert knowledge of best practice in change management. Your background spans both digital and change projects, where you have managed multiple concurrent initiatives with intricate interdependencies and diverse stakeholders. You combine strategic vision with operational agility—setting direction while actively engaging in delivery, removing blockers and accelerating progress. You thrive in complexity, embrace innovation, and have a builder’s mindset—creating new frameworks rather than relying on pre-defined models. With exceptional leadership and communication skills, you inspire teams, influence senior stakeholders, and maintain relentless focus on delivery and measurable impact.
