The Student Recruitment and Admissions department at the University of Bath is looking for an organised and people-focused administrator to join us as our new Campus Events Coordinator.

About the role

You will be a key point of contact for students, parents, schools and partner organisations, and will keep our events running smoothly through careful planning, accurate record keeping and close attention to detail. It is a varied role that would suit someone who has a strong eye for detail and enjoys working with people, managing several tasks at once and seeing an event come together.

As our Campus Events Coordinator, you will support the planning, organisation and delivery of a diverse programme of widening access and recruitment activities and events. This includes residential events for prospective Bath students, campus events and offer holder days. You will schedule and organise events, take bookings from schools, colleges and partner organisations, and help arrange the logistics that make an event a success, such as room bookings, catering and parking.

You will provide administrative support for our residential and access programmes, including the Autism Summer School, Discover Bath and Step into Bath. This involves contacting prospective participants, processing applications, supporting the development of programme timetables and preparing participant support plans. You will also work closely with partner organisations, including IntoUniversity, on the communication and administration of jointly delivered events.

About us

Student Recruitment and Admissions is responsible for attracting, recruiting and admitting students to the University of Bath.

Our widening access and outreach work supports students from a wide range of backgrounds to progress to higher education, through programmes and events delivered on campus, in schools and colleges, and in partnership with other organisations. The Campus Events team sits at the heart of this work, delivering on campus activity for schools, colleges and individuals, the team run activities such as summer schools and outreach events that give prospective students their first experience of Bath.

Further information

This is a part-time role, working 29.2 hours per week (0.8 FTE) over 4 days, although some evening and weekend work is required at busy times of the year, for which time off in lieu or overtime is provided.

It is fixed-term until September 2027 to cover parental leave.

This role will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Admissions Selector (Undergraduate) (CC14023)

Joining our exciting and committed team you will play a key role in supporting prospective students and assessing their applications. In this highly collaborative role, you will have a great opportunity to support our next generation of students.

The Undergraduate Admissions Team is part of our large and diverse Student Recruitment & Admissions department, which includes also student recruitment, outreach, widening access, learning partnership and postgraduate teams. You will join a large group of colleagues with diverse roles and interests, with opportunities to develop understanding and experience across the wider team.

About the role

Taking ownership of a portfolio of courses you will provide an outstanding experience for our applicants throughout their application process.

Assessing UCAS applications you will make and apply offers or unsuccessful decisions for these applicants in a fair, consistent, and transparent way. You will also be checking decisions made by other members of the team and assessing the fee status of applicants.

Strong organisation and prioritisation skills are essential to working in our fast-paced environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly when supporting enquiries from prospective undergraduate students and their representatives. You will also occasionally be involved in representing the Admissions Team and the University as part of student recruitment activities, including occasional attendance at recruitment fairs.

About you

With a background in administration and customer service, you will enjoy working in a dynamic environment where a high level of accuracy is key. Ideally, you will have worked within higher education admissions, however, if you have other relevant experience please apply. You will also have:

A high standard of IT and administrative skills including the use of email and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc)
Excellent attention to detail
An ability to stay calm and work efficiently and accurately under pressure
Effective communication skills, to adapt to supporting applicants, parents/guardians,, academic staff, external organisations, or other members of the team
Confidence using databases and reporting tools
The ability to work effectively in a team and independently, including managing your workload according to the team’s priorities

Further information

This is a full time, permanent position working 36.5 hours per week.

As with all members of our Undergraduate Admissions Team, a small amount of weekend working is required in June - October to support university open days and key results periods in August. The ability to take annual leave during August may also be limited.
