Description: Aims:
To give students experience in developing the design of a large civil infrastructure project.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of the unit, the student will have demonstrated an ability to undertake a large, complex civil infrastructure project considering, for example, coastal engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation planning and environmental impacts of the project.

Content:
Practical experience of civil engineering design for the particular project. The project will involve interaction of various components, for example coastal hydraulics and environmental impacts. The construction and sustainability of the project must be considered throughout the design process. The project will be tutored by academic staff and visiting industrial tutors with extensive experience in the field.
