The Student Records & Examinations Office (SREO) is part of the Registry at the University of Bath (information about what the Registry does, and an organisation chart are all available from the Registry web-site) and is the main co-ordinating user of the University's Student & Applicant Management Information System, SAMIS.
Our main areas of responsibility are outlined below:
- Preparation of the Academic Administration Calendar
- Advice on and charts of the academic year
- Arrangements for student graduands and guests at award ceremonies
- Preparation of award/degree certificates and duplicate award/degree certificates
- Arrangements for the central, co-ordinated scheduling and conduct of examinations
- Advice and support relating to Graduate Students and their studies
- Liaison with LEAs and the SLC
- Advice on the modular framework
- Advice on new programmes and units, and conformity with University frameworks
- Preparation of Programme & Unit Catalogues
- Records management for student business
- Registration of students
- Room bookings
- Development of student administration systems, including SAMIS; and user support
- Student data and statistics, and reports to external bodies (e.g., HESA, HEFCE, TTA)
- Maintenance of the University student record database (SAMIS), including programme and unit data
- Centrally coordinated timetabling of teaching
- Information on transcripts
- Advice for Tier 4 visa holders
- Verification of awards
