Description: Aims:
To undertake a critical analysis of two educational research reports.

Learning Outcomes:
Having studied this unit, students will:
* have an enhanced ability to analyse, interpret and critique findings and arguments.
* be more able to draw appropriate conclusions from educational research studies, taking account of the strengths and limitations of those studies.

Content:
The unit will address a number of issues relating to:
* the arguments and findings of educational research papers
* the rationales for the studies reported
* if appropriate, the validity of the empirical basis of the findings reported in educational research papers
* the interpretation of the findings from educational research
* the body of knowledge to which the research contributes.
