Description: Aims:
This elective focuses upon entrepreneurship and the creation of a new venture. It is concerned with the process of developing and understanding the various aspects of developing business ideas and writing a business plan. The course will cover:
* Importance of entrepreneurship
* Recognising opportunities and generating ideas
* Feasibility analysis
* Writing a business plan
* Industry and competitor analysis
* Developing an effective business model
* Creating and managing an entrepreneurial firm.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this unit, the student should be able to:
* Understand the role of entrepreneurship in society
* Critically assess a new venture business to determine its likely success or failure
* Write a business plan
* Understand various aspects of starting and managing a new business.

* a critical awareness of current issues and frameworks in entrepreneurship and new venture creation; T
