Description: Aims:
The aim of this unit is to allow the student to undertake a structured piece of library-based research, and to present the findings in an extended written form.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the unit the student should be able to:
1. demonstrate an ability to acquire information from primary literature
2. assimilate and collate such information
3. evaluate the subject area.
4. present a coherent account of the topic in the form of a dissertation.

Skills:
Study skills, handling information (T/F/A); Written communication skills (T/F/A).

Content:
The subject of the dissertation will reflect an aspect of current research interest in Pharmacology, and may involve technological developments or therapeutic opportunities within that given area.
