Description: Aims:
To identify and practice strategies for developing advanced level practice and learning skills in the context of appropriate professional frameworks.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this unit participants will be able to:
1. Systematically and critically identify gaps in their own learning needs and create strategies to meet these needs, based on the competency framework set out for example in the ACLF and in line with the KSF and Agenda for Change (professional skills, practical skills, key skills; taught, facilitated and assessed)
2. Undertake a series of self determined activities to develop or prepare for an advanced practice role (intellectual skills, professional skills, practical skills, key skills; taught, facilitated and assessed)
3. Collect and critically evaluate a selection of evidence to demonstrate that the identified learning needs have been met (in line with the appropriate framework) (intellectual skills, practical skills, key skills; taught, facilitated and assessed)
4. Work in peer learning sets to review and develop learning style, goals and activities, including giving and receiving peer feedback (professional skills, key skills; taught and facilitated)
5. Reflect on their development as an advanced practitioner for the duration of this unit (intellectual and key skills; taught, facilitated and assessed).
