Students
There is now a new web-based Registration
On-Line (ROL) system provided for students, using a similar interface
to the old one. This has been in place since 15 August 2002 and is being
used for registration in September 2002.
|
Academic staff
As for student access, academic staff (and other infrequent users) will
use a web interface rather than using the full installed version of the
system. The first stages of this have been available as SAMIS
on the web since 31 May 2002. More development will follow. If you
haven't used SAMIS yet and think you should, please mail here.

Department / Faculty administrators & support
staff
Following the "switch-over" from the former system, stusys,
to SAMIS around Easter 2002, departmental users are gradually being introduced
to SAMIS. The first stages of this have been available through SAMIS
on the web since 31 May 2002. More development will follow. If you
haven't used SAMIS yet and think you should, please mail here.

Pilot assessment departments

Those departments which volunteered to pilot the assessment sections
of SAMIS started using this in spring 2002.

Admissions staff
UCAS admissions went live in October 2001, and all staff related to UCAS
admissions should already be using SAMIS. If you haven't used SAMIS yet
and think you should, please mail here.
The direct admissions area went live in mid-2002.

Student finance staff
Training took place alongside the "switch-over" from the former
system, stusys, to SAMIS around Easter 2002 to allow fee generation
and subsequent processing ready for the 2002/03 academic year.
|
Registry staff & FSSAs
The main "switch-over" from the former system, stusys,
to SAMIS took place around Easter 2002, and users who had "write"
access to stusys moved to SAMIS then. This included Registry staff
and the FSSAs.
