Requisites:
Aims: (to enable the student to)
* to develop knowledge and understanding of ICT and its effective use within the early years curriculum;
* plan, develop, implement use and evaluate ICT in an inclusive early years curriculum;
* identify and use software for ICT as a tool to enhance young children's learning.
Learning Outcomes:
(the student will be able to)
* support children's development by using ICT;
* identify and assess how ICT can be used as a medium for play;
* plan for and implement the use of ICT across an inclusive early years setting;
* identify and evaluate the effects of ICT on children's learning and development;
* identify and assess the effects of ICT on own learning and development.
Skills:
Analysis, retrieval and storage of information; evaluation of resources; creating data storage and sharing data; programmable toys; analysis and evaluation of software for the curriculum.
Content:
This unit will examine and develop the student's own ICT skills and the use of ICT in the workplace. Legislation, to include data protection will be identified and examined. ICT and the use of software across the early years curriculum will be explored and examined, to include: planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
