Requisites:
Aims: The aims of this unit are to:
* explain the performance advantage of appropriate tyre construction and selection;
* illustrate the importance of data acquisition, and recording, to optimise tyre performance.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the unit the student should be able to:
* select a tyre from available options to optimise vehicle performance;
* understand the vehicle set up requirements for a variety of tyre designs and compounds;
* record tyre performance data;
* use data from driver and on board data acquisition equipment to optimise tyre performance;
* interpret national and international regulations with regard to tyre eligibility.
