Requisites:
Before taking this unit you must take ED20386
or an equivalent unit from another institution. Aims: This unit provides the student with a detailed knowledge and practical understanding of the analysis of sports specific competitive situations.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this unit students will be able to:
* Analyse sports specific competitive situations commonly presented at international level.
* Understand the key control variables for each situation.
* Investigate the application of the principles of control of the opposition.
* Develop effective intervention strategies to address tactical and skill errors.
* Evaluate the tactical and skill competence of a high level sports performer.

This unit will include the following skills:

International competition situations identified by performance analysis.
Contest rules and sport and Organisation rules of the International Federation.
Styles adopted within international sport for the specific discipline.
Stance, position and tactical approaches adopted internationally.
