Requisites:
Aims: To undertake a critical analysis of an education research report.
Learning Outcomes:
Having studied this unit, students will:
* have an enhanced ability to analyse, interpret and critique findings and arguments;
* be more able to draw appropriate conclusions from educational research studies, taking account of the strengths and limitations of those studies.

Content:
The unit will address a number of issues relating to:
* the arguments and findings of an educational research paper;
* the rationale for the study reported in the paper;
* if appropriate, the validity of the empirical basis of the findings reported in the paper;
* the interpretation of the findings from the research;
* the body of knowledge to which the paper contributes.
