Aims & Learning Objectives: Aims: To enable students to undertake systematic and original research in an appropriate area of European cinema. Learning objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will have demonstrated: * self-direction and originality in selecting, planning and implementing an appropriate research topic; * the ability to construct arguments which make a contribution to current academic debate in the field of film studies; * the ability to deal with complex issues both systematically and creatively, and to demonstrate originality in tackling and solving problems.
