Dr Philip Isaac


Dr Philip Isaac is a visiting research fellow in the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering. He is actively engaged in teaching and research within the department having tutored on the Basil Spence project and delivered lectures for the Architectural structures course. He is also actively engaged in research projects within the department including on the use of random particles to model the behaviour of reinforced concrete with Dr John Orr.

Phil obtained his PhD from the University of Bath in 2014 working with Dr Antony Darby investigating the effects of extreme impulsive loads on reinforced concrete structures. Since then he has been working for the internationally renowned, design focused structural engineering company, AKT II.

In addition to his work in practice and teaching activities in Bath Phil has also been responsible for schemes aimed at attracting students from diverse backgrounds to consider careers in engineering and architecture.
