The post was first announced by the Vice-Chancellor in June 2019, and a panel, chaired by Professor Ian White and including both staff and student representation, made the appointment in July 2019.

Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Ian White, said: “Our students are at the heart of our community and this important leadership role will help us achieve an even greater focus on enhancing the experience of current and future Bath students. I am delighted Dr Wilson has been appointed and I have no doubt she will have a very positive impact as Vice-President.”

Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Learning & Teaching, Professor Peter Lambert, who was a member of the panel, said: "Cassie showed an impressive breadth and depth of experience and a strong commitment, both at interview and as Associate Dean, to supporting all our students to fulfil their potential here at Bath.”

Dr Wilson said: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking on this new role and I am excited about the opportunities to work with colleagues across the University to enhance the student experience.”

In addition to her role as a Senior Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Biomechanics in the Department for Health, Dr Wilson has also been Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She has undertaken leadership roles at a Faculty and University level on Degree Outcomes, Applicant Visit Days, and Curriculum Transformation.

Dr Wilson will take up the role on 1 September 2019 and will be a member of the University Executive Board. She will work closely with Professor Peter Lambert in monitoring measures of student satisfaction and ensuring that the student voice is heard.
