The beech tree, which is in the bob-sleigh area of the campus, will be removed from campus. There is significant internal decay which supports a large limb of the tree and means that it is unsafe to remain in its current form.

For safety reasons, part of the footpath is cordoned off while the necessary works take place. Please make sure you’re careful when you walk along the path, and avoid the cordon.

The tree will be reduced to a 4-5 metre monolith. This means the timber will be close to the tree for future habitats.
