The Sustainable Technologies Business Acceleration Hub (STBAH) in partnership with Low Carbon South West have put together a series of free low carbon workshops to provide initial entry points into the STBAH programme for relevant companies.

There will be a number of sector specific events taking place in Bristol and Bath over the coming months.

Matt Tudge, General Manager from Low Carbon South West, who is organising and running the events, said: “The workshop programmes have been set up to support businesses in low carbon innovation and we have identified a number of sector specific areas we feel are key.

"Through our links with the University of Bath we are able to secure key speakers and researchers which delegates attending will benefit from and be able to tap into their expertise.

"Funding is a crucial element for any start up or business seeing growth and we are delighted to have secured a speaker from Innovate UK for both our June and July events.

"As part of the workshop there will also be an opportunity for delegates to book into tailored 1-2-1 sessions - these will need to be booked in advance, but it's another great way of discussing individual support required with an expert in their field.”

The first event will be on Low Carbon in the Built Environment and will look at Themes, Trends and How to Get Funded. It takes place on Thursday 14 June, at The Oak Space, Bristol, from 9am to 2pm starting with a breakfast, introduction, 2 speakers and a funding focused panel discussion, lunch will follow and then the individual support meetings will take place. Register for your free space, via Eventbrite.

The second event will be on Low Carbon Innovation in Energy Systems and will look at Themes, Trends and How to Get Funded. It takes place on Thursday 12 July, at The Innovation Centre, Bath, from 9am-2pm and follow the same format. Registration is open and free places can be secured via Eventbrite.

Pete Keevill, who is part of the project team for the Sustainable Technologies Business Acceleration Hub, said: “ These events will provide an initial entry point into the STBAH programme for relevant companies.

"The STBAH offers free bespoke support packages to businesses working in sustainable technologies and the low carbon sector and can provide tailored support to businesses in the West of England to grow efficient and innovative practices.

"For delegates attending the workshop, programmes will provide four hours of support and a further eight hours of individual, specific free support can then be discussed.

"These workshops offer a great opportunity for businesses or individuals to network with expert advisers and help them achieve their goals.”

Further events supporting other key sectors are planned, so if you are interested in receiving additional STBAH support either visit www.stbah.org or email the project team on STBAH-PMO@bath.ac.uk.
