Caron joined the Centre for Death and Society in September 2006 as Centre Manager.

Main areas of responsibility include:

  • Developing research proposal submissions, particularly with reference to project management, finance and impact activities
  • Working as part of the research team on specific projects
  • Project management and support
  • Event management and delivery
  • Internal and external communications, incluing CDAS facebook and twitter, and departmental blog 
  • From 2012, managing a small research support team within the Department of Social & Policy Sciences

Caron is secretary to the Department of Social & Policy Sciences Research Committee, and is a member of the Departmental Impact Strategy Group.


Previous roles:

  • Operations Manager for Tate Membership and Ticketing Services at Tate Modern in London, Caron co-managed many highly successful exhibitions including Surrealism (2001), Warhol (2002) and MatissePicasso (2002). During this time, she also managed a weekly rotating programme of films, events, and lectures as well as larger events programmes such as the Tate and Egg Live series involving performers such as DV8, Nick Cave, the Monteverdi Choir and PJ Harvey. (2000-2004)
  • Administrator, Bath Communities Partnership, a local regeneration project within Bath and North East Somerset council, assisting BME and specific local community projects within Bath.(2004)
  • Co-ordinator, Science Learning Centre South West.  With a remit to deliver high quality continuing professional development to science educators, Caron spearheaded the management of the Centre during her two years there, successfully delivering courses to over 2000 people in that time. She has also helped to forge many links with local Universities and Local Authorities. (2004-2006)
