Accredited programmes
All our degrees have all been awarded the highest level of professional accreditation by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).
Our undergraduate programmes are designed to equip you with the professional skills demanded by industry.
We offer the following undergraduate degree programmes:
- MEng/BEng Chemical Engineering
- MEng Biochemical Engineering.
These four or five-year programmes feature a strong design element and offer the chance to study language courses. We also run three or four-year programmes in Chemical Engineering.
Our department is consistently ranked in the top ten of league tables, and recently placed as high as top three for Chemical Engineering in the UK by The Sunday Times University Guide 2012.

Our programmes offer the freedom to choose your area of specialism.
All degrees have a common first two years of core science, mathematics and chemical engineering. You can then decide to study Biochemical Engineering, including a unique new option in Biomedical Engineering, or remain with Chemical Engineering.
Industry-focused group and individual projects are a major part of our degrees. All programmes also include optional paid placements.
