UKOLN, a centre of expertise in digital information management, providing advice and services to the library, information, education and cultural heritage communities, was based at the University of Bath and funded through a mixture of core and project grants. The work of UKOLN staff advanced knowledge through research and innovation, developed systems and technology, influenced policy, informed practice and raised awareness in specialist areas including metadata, interoperability and digital curation.

The collection contains UKOLN management committee records, working papers, project reports, publications and other outputs, and material documenting UKOLN events and conferences.

The collection was donated to the University of Bath by Dr Liz Lyon, Director, UKOLN, in 2013.
