Aprons and ovens on: ‘Bake your Doctorate Showcase’ has arrived!
It's our very first research bake-off competition here at Bath, where current doctoral students will have the chance to channel their creativity and bake something that communicates what their research is all about.
Staff and students are welcome to attend the two hour event on 12 June, which includes networking and judging time. There will be free refreshments at the event and you are, of course, free to eat your own creation after the judging has finished!
Students can enter by submitting their baked doctorate, along with a short abstract about the research it represents, by 23:00 on 10 June. There are three prize categories: Panel's Choice, Doctoral Community Choice and Professional Doctorate choice. Winners and runners up will receive £100 and £40 Amazon vouchers respectively.
Judges will be looking for clear representation of research, creativity, taste and texture in each. If you'd like some inspiration, take a look at what bakers at Southampton, Warwick and ANU cooked up.
Read our Guide for full details, criteria and rules.
The Doctoral College has some funding available to help doctoral students with the costs of making their entry. If you would like to apply for this, please get in touch.
