A programme aimed at women up to Senior Lecturer level, or equivalent in professional services, to develop the leadership side of their careers.
The Aurora programme
Aurora is a five-year initiative by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, aimed at enabling more women to develop the leadership side of their careers and so redress the deficit in women at senior level in the sector.
It is a programme aimed at women up to Senior Lecturer level, or equivalent in professional services, and is based on workshop events, mentoring and self-directed learning.
The University is committed to engage in the initiative and this year will be supporting 15 participants to attend the programme. There is a competitive application process for these places, and the 2017-18 round is now open for applications. University of Bath participants usually attend workshops at the nearest centre, which this year will be in Cardiff.
Professor Jonathan Knight, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, is the University’s Aurora Champion and will lead the selection process. We are also committed to providing appropriate role models to take part in the scheduled events, and to helping the Aurora community get together to share learning and bring ideas and challenges back to the University.
The names of past participants and other news and views about Aurora can be found on the Aurora blog.
