Why you may be asked to have your documents checked

When you arrive at the University to start your course, you may be asked to attend a document checking session by your relevant Admissions team so we can confirm your qualifications, even if you have already provided us with copies.

This may be a virtual session or you may be asked to attend in person at a future date. You will be contacted directly by the relevant Admissions team via email if you are required to attend a session.

If you are a Home student and have recently completed an academic undergraduate or postgraduate course at Bath, you will not be invited to complete document checking.

If you have been assessed as overseas for fee purposes, or if you need immigration permission to study in the UK (even if you have been assessed as Home fees), you should follow the separate process for international students.

What to bring

If you are invited to a virtual or in-person document checking session, you must bring any original qualifications that were part of your offer, such as:

• degree certificates (and original translations if not in English)
• transcripts (and original translations if not in English)
• an English language certificate, if English is not your first language
