Electric vehicle parking on our Claverton Down campus

Where to park and charge your electric car, motorbike or scooter on the University campus.

Parking spaces and charge points

Electric cars

There are 20 parking spaces on campus for electric cars. There are eight in the East Car Park, and 12 more in West Car Park.

Each space has access to a 7KW Mennekes socket charging point. You must charge your vehicle while parking in these spaces.

From Friday 1 September 2023 there will be a charge of £0.45p per kWh to use the electric vehicle chargers on campus.

East Car Park

Seven spaces are reserved for electric vehicle charging at all times. One space is for Blue Badge holders. Other vehicles may not park in these spaces at any time.

West Car Park

All 12 spaces are reserved for electric vehicle charging at all times. Other vehicles may not park in these spaces at any time.

Confirm your charge with POD Point

When you park at an electric vehicle charge point, you must confirm your charge within 15 minutes of plugging into the unit. You will need to ensure you have topped up your Pod Point account before you begin charging, this can be done using the Pod Point App.

Use the POD Point service to confirm your charge and top up your account:

If you're a student or member of staff, you should use your @bath.ac.uk e-mail address when you sign up to POD Point. The units in the West car park will not show up for users without an @bath.ac.uk or @bath.edu e-mail address.

Electric motorbikes and scooters

There are charging points for electrically-powered motorcycles and scooters in the Underdeck. The small grey boxes are at the Wessex House end of the Underdeck. You can use any of these points during the day.

Electric vehicle parking permits

If you drive an electric vehicle, you may be able to apply for an electric vehicle parking permit:

Pay to Park payments

If you don't have a parking permit you must use the East Car Park.

To make a payment visit JustPark and use location number 187812 (East Car Park non permit holders) Monday to Friday or 187814 (campus wide non permit holders) on Saturday and Sunday. Occasional user permit holders should use 187813 Monday to Sunday between 8am and 5pm.

This payment will only be valid in these allocated spaces if the vehicle is plugged in and charging.

Invited departmental visitors should contact the department they are visiting in advance to get a valid permit for these spaces. Only users with an @bath.ac.uk or @bath.edu e-mail address can use the units in the West car park.
