Exchanges, working abroad, summer programmes...

If you are interested in going abroad during your degree programme, you could think about taking part in an exchange, taking a work placement abroad, or doing a summer programme. You can learn about a new culture and language, develop yourself and enhance your employability!

Exchanges

The University of Bath offers exchange opportunities within many of its undergraduate degree programmes, although not in all. Where exchange opportunities are included, the destinations available are specific to the subject area and degree programme and do change from time to time.

Many of the exchange opportunities offered by departments are for exchanges in Europe which are covered by the Erasmus+ Programme. This enables participants who meet the eligibility criteria to receive an Erasmus study grant.

If you are a current student, check the regulations for your degree programme and speak with your Director of Studies or Departmental Exchange Coordinator for information on possible destinations and how to take part.

If you are a prospective students, see the Undergraduate Prospectus to check whether exchange opportunities are available within the programme which you are considering.

Working abroad

Most undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Bath include the opportunity to undertake a work placement, and this does not normally have to be in the UK but can be in another country. Placement Teams will be happy to advise you.

If you take your work placement in another European country and you meet the eligibility criteria, then you could potentially qualify to receive an Erasmus work placement grant through the LLP-Erasmus Programme.

Summer Programmes

Summer Programmes are available in China, Korea and Kazakhstan and provide a great opportunity to experience a period abroad without it forming part of your degree. For more information please contact us erasmus@bath.ac.uk.
