LEAP project

The 'Leading the Enhancement of Assessment Practices' (LEAP) project aims to support the University in taking a co-ordinated, department-wide approach to transforming assessment and feedback practices, supported by technology. Ultimately, the aim is to enhance the learning experience of our students, delivering efficiencies and quality improvements.

Aims and objectives

  • enhance the assessment and feedback experiences of our staff and students. LEAP will do this by promoting active and deep learning opportunities and ensuring that assessment practices are valid, reliable and transparent
  • engage programme teams and students in evaluating existing practices and considering the relationship between intended learning outcomes, methods of delivery and methods of assessment and feedback
  • explore and introduce appropriate and diverse delivery and assessment methods so as to provide rich learning opportunities
  • explore the use of technology to support constructive alignment and administrative efficiencies
  • engage and involve students in appropriate aspects of their own assessment
  • identify and showcase good practice within and across departments.
