Learning & Teaching Enhancement

Using UE data

UE data can be viewed during both the life of the evaluation, enabling administrators to view current response rates and publicise further to students if required, and also once the evaluation has been closed. For detailed information about how to access the data, please refer to the UE User Instructions.

Departments should approach unit monitoring in line with expectations and requirements set out in QA Code of Practice 51 Annual Monitoring of Units and Programmes.

Evidence drawn from a range of departmental approaches to-date demonstrates that if students see no action arising from their feedback, obtaining subsequent feedback then proves difficult.

Discussions with students support a common agreement that using Moodle to communicate UE results and actions taken by a department is the most effective and appropriate mechanism. Such feedback to students may include, for example, strengths identified, areas for development and proposed actions. The overarching responsibility for ensuring UE results are fed back through Moodle and directly to Staff Student Liaison Committees (SSLCs), as set out in QA Code of Practice 48 Staff Student Liaison Committees, lies with Directors of Studies.
