Dr John Troyer from the University’s Centre for Death and Society will be speaking at the TEDx conference taking place in Bristol this weekend.
This is the second TEDx event to be held at the M Shed in the city, and this year’s theme is FutureShock. Speakers will be sharing ideas about change and the future of Bristol, and exploring the universal issues of a modern city, from a global to a local perspective.
Dr Troyer said: “My TEDx talk will be on the subject of Future Death, Future Dead Bodies, Future Cemeteries.”
Dr Troyer’s forthcoming book, ‘Technologies of the Human Corpse’, will be published in 2013.
His current project being carried out at the University is the ‘Future Cemetery’, a REACT Heritage Sandbox collaboration between Arnos Vale Cemetery, Calling the Shots media and the Centre for Death and Society.
