10W provides space for our expanding Department of Psychology, including the new Centre for Applied Autism Research (CAAR), is home to the Institute for Policy Research (IPR) and offers dedicated postgraduate study space on its upper floors.
Architect Charles Jordan of AWW Architects, Bristol, (a University of Bath graduate) was highly commended for the design quality of the building in the 2016 Awards.
Professor Bas Verplanken, who was Head of Department of Psychology during construction of 10 West, said: "I am sure that I speak on behalf of all of us, as very happy customers: many congratulations to Charles! It is a well-deserved distinction."
Vinci Construction also received an award for build quality at the same ceremony.
At the opening of the new building in July 2016 eminent psychologist Dame Vicki Bruce highlighted how the facilities would inspire students in the department: "It is fantastic to see such wonderful facilities for PhD students. They are the future of our discipline."
