PaPaS

The Pain, Palliative and Supportive Care review group (PaPaS) was formed in 1998 and is part of the Cochrane Collaboration. The Collaboration seeks to review the latest information about the effects of healthcare and make these results available worldwide. Professor Chris Eccleston from the Centre for Pain Research has been serving as coordinating editor for the review group since 2008.
The PaPaS review group focuses on randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of interventions for:

  • The prevention and treatment of acute and chronic pain.
  • The relief of symptoms resulting from both the disease process and interventions used in the management of disease and symptom control.
  • Supporting patients or carers, or both, through the disease process.
