Widening Participation

We organise outreach events and collaborate with schools, colleges and others to help students from all backgrounds learn more about their options.

Widening Participation Strategy

We have the strong belief that any students with the ability should be able to progress to higher education irrespective of their background. The University therefore works with under-represented students in higher education to support them through their journey. Starting with identifying students through schools, colleges and third sector organisations we develop and empower them to choose a University like Bath. The support doesn't end there. We support under-represented students through the process of admissions and then once they are on-course at Bath embedded and additional support ensures that students get the best outcomes possible. We then support under-represented students to progress into further study or careers, ensuring they achieve what they are capable of. You can find out more about our activity for different areas fo the student lifecycle below.
