Staff / Student Liaison Committees
Staff / Student Liaison Committees (SSLCs) are the main official channel of communication between staff and students. All departments must have at least one SSLC representing the interests of taught students and each faculty / School is required to have a separate SSLC for research students.
Student representatives are elected annually to SSLCs through online elections run by the Students' Union. Student Representatives also sit on the Students' Union Academic Council.
SSLCs report once a year on issues arising from their meetings. The following templates are available for SSLC annual reports:
- QA48 Form 1 Annual report template for Undergraduate Programmes
- QA48 Form 2 Annual report template for Postgraduate Taught and Research Programmes
The Students' Union presents a summary of SSLC annual reports to University Learning, Teaching and Quality Committee at its first meeting of the academic year. We develop an action plan from this report which is monitored by the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Office.
For full details of the role and administration of SSLCs see QA48 Staff / Student Liaison Committees.
