How to receive your payments
PG Maintenance payments are paid quarterly in advance into your nominated UK bank account. To receive payment, you need to:
- be fully registered
- make sure your UK bank details held in SAMIS are correct
- submit your completed Postgraduate Maintenance Agreement form to the Studentship office.
Maintenance payments from sponsors are subject to signed contract agreements and income having been received.
Payment schedule
Quarterly payments are due by:
- 1 October
- 1 January
- 1 April
- 1 July
The Next payment date is Thursday 28 March 2024 Please note due to the SAMIS upgrade it will not be possible for you to update Bank Details from 16 to 19 March 2024.
A notification will be sent to your University email address by 19:00 on Thursday 14 March 2024. If you do not receive an email or there is an error on the remittance advice, please email Studentships as soon as possible and by 09:00 Thursday 21 March 2024 at the latest.
Students who are no longer fully registered, Suspended or Submitted
Should you suspend, leave or transfer to continuation/writing up, submit or be no longer eligible for the payments for any reason; payments will stop and any prepaid maintenance must be repaid.
PhD Mobility
All Students in receipt of the scholarship should email Studentships to arrange an appointment prior to visiting the Studentships Office on level 3 of Wessex House room 3.44 the office is open 10.00 am to 2.00pm Monday to Friday.
Visiting students
As soon as you arrive please email Studentships so we can arrange payment of your scholarship.
Outgoing students
Please email Studentships to arrange an appointment to visit the Studentship office at least 4 weeks before you leave to arrange your finances while you are away from the University of Bath.

If you're a new or current Undergraduate Students who is due to receive Undergraduate Maintenance or Vacation bursary payment please use this form to accept the terms and conditions for Maintenance and Bursary payments. Submit your completed Undergraduate BACS Maintenance agreement to the Studentship office
