ActNowFilm, a collaborative initiative between the Institute for Policy Research (IPR) and Cambridge Zero, is proud to announce its latest project: ActNowFilm: Youth Climate Leaders as Agents of Change. This international film project aims to amplify the voices of young people and showcase their impactful actions in combating the climate crisis.
Scheduled for release during COP29, the 2024 film will intertwine the insights of global climate experts with the narratives and initiatives of young climate leaders from around the world. Through compelling storytelling, the film will highlight the urgent need for ambitious climate action and advocate for the official integration of youth voices in climate negotiations.
The film will explore key themes including planetary systems and tipping points, food systems, extreme weather, forced displacement and migration, human health, nature and biodiversity, loss and damage and global governance. By delving into these critical issues, ActNowFilm seeks to underscore the interconnected nature of the climate crisis and the vital role of youth-led initiatives in addressing its impacts.
ActNowFilm: Youth Climate Leaders as Agents of Change builds upon the success of its predecessor, ActNowFilm: Youth Climate Leaders in Conversation with Climate Experts, which premiered at COP28 with an introduction from Mary Robinson, Former President of Ireland and Chair of The Elders. The previous project featured prominent figures such as Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, Renata Koch Alvarenga, Johan Rockström, Christiana Figueres, and Moliehi Mafantiri.
