Alex Butler, Chief Digital and Information Officer, will be stepping down from her role at the end of January; she will continue to provide strategic digital advice to the University until she moves on at the end of May, ensuring a smooth transition.

Alex has been at the forefront of the development of our digital strategy during her time here as well as being key in the successful shift to online learning in the earlier stages of the Covid pandemic. With the digital strategy nearing approval, Alex has decided that this is an ideal time for her to move on, and pass the baton to others to implement the next steps of our digital ambitions.

Professor Ian White, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Bath, said:

“I am most grateful for everything Alex has given to the University and wish her well in her future endeavours.

“Not only has Alex moved on our digital agenda, but for the last year Alex has also chaired the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Born out of a passion for improving opportunities for all, and creating an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive, Alex has led a range of changes which have put us on a more secure footing for the future in this important field.”
