The Ukraine Extension Scheme is one of three distinct Ukraine schemes put in place to support Ukrainian nationals (and their immediate family members) that wish to enter, or remain in, the UK.
The Home Office have updated the Ukraine Extension Scheme guidance to extend the eligibility period. You can now apply for the scheme if:
- you held permission to enter or stay in the UK before 1 January 2022 and your permission ended after this date
- you hold permission to enter or stay on or between 18 March 2022 and 16 May 2023 (the permission does not need to cover the whole period of time)
This concession to the eligibility period will remain in force until the Immigration Rules are updated this autumn, at which point the concession will be written into the Rules. The autumn Rules will also introduce an application deadline for the Ukraine Extension Scheme.
More information is available on UKCISA on the support available for Ukrainian nationals.
The Ukraine Family Scheme visa and the Homes for Ukraine visa are the other two immigration routes available to support Ukrainian nationals.
