Dev Biddlecombe will become the University's Director of Estates from 5 September 2022.

He will join us from Cardiff University where he is the Director of Estates and Campus Facilities, a role he has held for eight years.

In this role Dev will lead the Estates Department with responsibility for strategically managing, maintaining and developing the Bath estate, and for overseeing the delivery of excellent services to users. He will also have an important remit to create a smart campus that will support the University’s carbon reduction strategies.

Dev will report into Keith Zimmerman, Chief Operating Officer, who said: "I am delighted that we will soon welcome Dev to the University of Bath. Dev's extensive experience will be a great asset to Bath not only in leading day-to-day estates operations but also in shaping Bath’s campus masterplan to ensure it meets the current and future needs of the University’s users.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Stephen Godber, Director of Estates Operations, who will be retiring in the summer, for his hard work during his time here, especially for stepping in to lead the Department while we recruited a new director. There will be an opportunity to say goodbye to him on campus and I wish him well for the future.”

Dev said: "I am very excited to be joining the University of Bath and hope to bring all the experience I've gained in this field to bear in my new role. Bath has such a great campus and I’m looking forward to playing a key part in its future development."

In his role at Cardiff University, Dev has successfully overseen the refurbishment of its learning spaces, catering facilities and the School of Architecture and new developments including a Centre for Student Life building, a School of Mathematics and School of Computer Sciences and Informatics building, a Social Science Research building and Translational Research buildings. He also produced the estate’s 30-year masterplan, mapping the development of the estate and evaluating how to achieve a multi-campus university.

In due course, Dev’s job title of Director of Estates will become Director of Campus Infrastructure to better reflect the remit of this role.
