Daniela De Angeli has received the emerging scholar award from the Inclusive Museum Conference. The emerging scholar awards are given to outstanding graduate students or early career academics who have an active academic interest in museum-related research, with a focus on inclusivity.
The Award was given based on Daniela's leadership experiences and her research interests, in particular her work with games as a tool to stimulate participation and social reflection with difficult heritage sites.
As emerging scholar, she receives a free registration to the conference and will be given special recognition during the conference proceedings. She'll also chair parallel sessions and present her research during the conference.
During her doctorate at Bath's Centre for Digital Entertainment, she explored how authenticity and entertainment can coexist in contemporary museums through game creation and game play. She is currently investigating the use of games to stimulate dialogue and social reflection in difficult heritage sites.
