The open call for funding to accelerate the impact of research within the Economic and Social Science (ESRC) remit is now live and will remain open until 10 November 2025.
The awards are designed to support, develop, and foster strategic partnerships for Knowledge Exchange (KE) and impact.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are invited for projects that:
- Build on research linked to a previous ESRC grant or fall within the ESRC remit
- Demonstrate clear potential for impact with a well-defined plan for delivery and evidence
- Support interdisciplinary approaches led by social sciences (minimum 51% ESRC remit)
Funding Available
This is a competitive call with two tiers of funding:
- Tier 1: Up to £10,000
- Tier 2: £10,001 – £20,000
Total funding available: £100,000
Priority Areas
We particularly encourage applications from:
- Interdisciplinary projects with strong societal and economic impact
- Under-represented groups, including female academics, ethnic minorities, and early career researchers
- Collaborative projects involving the University of Bath and at least one other GW4 university
Eligible Activities
Projects may include (but are not limited to):
- Knowledge exchange with non-academic stakeholders
- Partnership development
- Prototyping and sector-specific secondments
- Policy engagement and informing decision-makers
- Market research and impact realisation
