The 'French in Your Suitcase' course is taking place on campus from Monday 5 June to Friday 9 June 2023, 11.15am to 1.05pm each day.

Aimed at students who are going on a work placement or simply visiting a French-speaking country, the course will give you the essential skills you need to communicate in a range of situations.

University of Bath staff wishing to brush up their French for a business trip or holiday can also attend the course free of charge.

The course is suitable for those who have already completed our Elementary or Lower Intermediate units. You should be A1/A2 level in the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or have a GCSE or equivalent qualification.

You should be able to talk confidently about yourself, family and friends, express an opinion, understand short written texts and audio recordings, and write a paragraph on an everyday topic.

The course is not suitable for complete beginners or for more advanced learners.

You will be expected to attend the classes every day and complete approximately two hours independent study between sessions.

Enrolment for this course is now closed.
