As part of National Interfaith Week 2022, a panel from the Bath University Interfaith Community took time to discuss the importance of building religious literacy as a foundation for tolerance and inclusion.
Revd Canon Nigel Rawlinson, University Chaplain introduced Local Visiting Faith Leaders: Dr Mohammed Gamal Abdelnour, Mother Sarah, Dr Jason Hart and Iris Segall and the panel shared their faith backgrounds and hopes for interfaith work. They talked over the need to break down barriers and take every opportunity to build solidarity and empathy between people while maintaining the integrity of different faiths. The panel recognised the importance of faith to the individual and society and acknowledged that the university environment provides an opportunity for staff and students deepen their understanding of their own faith and engage in respectful, meaningful dialogue with other faiths.
