Creative Services brings together design, photography, media production, print and events expertise to support high-quality, on-brand communications across the University.
Our Media Production team supports all aspects of video and audio production, from early concept development and planning through to filming, editing and final delivery. The team also manages the University’s TV studio and sound recording facilities, supporting a wide range of internal communications, campaigns, research activity and events.
What's changing
From 1 February 2026, Creative Services will begin recharging for Media Production services. This includes video and audio production, as well as use of the University’s TV and recording studios.
Why this change is happening
This change ensures a consistent and sustainable approach across our creative services, aligning media production with the existing recharging model already in place for print, design, and photography.
It also enables full cost recovery for work funded through research grants and externally funded projects, helping to maintain the quality, accessibility, and long-term viability of the service.
When recharging will apply
Recharging will apply when a department or project commissions Creative Services to deliver video or audio production, including use of the TV or recording studios.
We recognise that not all projects will have budget available, and where work is essential but funding is limited, we will always take a case-by-case approach and do our best to support teams in finding a way forward.
Talk to us early
We encourage early conversations about upcoming work, particularly for complex or time-critical projects. Engaging with us early helps us plan effectively, explore the most appropriate solutions, and ensure you get the best value from the service.
