The Centre for 21st Century Public Health (C21PH) at the University of Bath is hiring a new Operations Officer to support the development and smooth running of this dynamic and innovative research Centre.

C21PH is home to a transdisciplinary community of researchers and professional staff working with local governments, public health practitioners, civil society organisations, and communities to understand and tackle the complex systems that shape human and planetary health. With an ambitious strategic vision and strong commitment to impact, we are now looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Officer to support our day-to-day delivery and strategic growth.

About the Role

As Operations Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the effective delivery and strategic growth of the C21PH. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of operational tasks, including developing strong working relationships with academic, professional, and external stakeholders, supporting Centre committees, and coordinating the logistics for meetings, workshops, and events.

You will also contribute to the Centre’s communications by helping to maintain the website, produce newsletters, manage social media content, and support the Centre Blog. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of stakeholder engagement and tracking the Centre’s impact, as well as assisting with financial administration and reporting.

This is a dynamic and varied role suited to someone who is organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. With the unique opportunities and challenges that come with supporting a new research centre, you will be expected to identify service gaps, solve problems creatively, and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes.

This is an ideal opportunity for a professional with strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. You’ll need to be flexible, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working across a range of tasks and relationships. While knowledge of academic or public health settings is helpful, we welcome applicants from a range of operational and administrative backgrounds.

The role is offered on a full-time basis of 36.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be located on the University of Bath campus and would be expected to work on campus a minimum of 2 days per week.

If you think this is the role for you and you are keen to make an impact on public health, apply now.
