Do you enjoy organising events, meeting other researchers and helping to shape your doctoral experience? Fancy earning some extra cash and having a break from your research from time to time?

We're looking for more doctoral students to join our Doctoral Engagement Ambassador Team, here in the Doctoral College.

Doctoral Engagement Ambassadors play a crucial role in supporting doctoral activities throughout the year, such as facilitating our weekly Cake in the Commons event and supporting induction events and research related activities. They also get involved with recruitment Fairs, virtual open days and communications campaigns - sharing their experiences with prospective students.

The role is much more than simply providing event support, we want students who are willing to speak to other doctoral students to help them feel part of a wider doctoral community. You’ll need to be confident, willing to go that extra mile and also put people at the heart of what you do.

The role is offered on a casual basis meaning that you can pick and choose when you work and the type of work you will get involved with. We can’t guarantee you will be a millionaire after joining the team, but you will have opportunities to meet lots of people and it will be an enjoyable break from the demands of doing your own doctoral study.

Good luck!

Being part of the Doctoral College team has been an extraordinary experience for me so far! Alongside my research, the Doctoral Ambassador job allows me to socialise with other students and is a really good way for me to change mood and relax a bit from my research. It’s very flexible. You can sign up to host the events that suit your own timetable. I get to host a variety of events for either new or existing doctoral students and I especially enjoy hosting Cake in the Commons every Friday – it’s the a perfect chance to meet doctoral students from other departments.
