This Award is made in recognition of excellence in leadership in learning and teaching in the University.

Dr Cassie Wilson was recognised by the Committee as having demonstrated significant and consistent leadership in her role as Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching). Her achievements are evidenced by the high praise she has received for her role as an inspirational leader.

Statements in support of Dr Wilson’s nomination paid tribute to the range of developments she has led in support of learning and teaching. Examples of these developments include leading on curriculum transformation change, particularly within the Department for Health, introducing Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) events across the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and contributing to the University’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) task team. She has also developed and chaired Placement Tutor and Senior Tutor groups within the Faculty, and played a key role in developing a series of Faculty Guidance Notes to ensure the smooth operation of academic programmes. Dr Wilson has made significant contributions to numerous University committees and working groups. As Chair of the University Applicant Visit Day Committee, she has overseen the successful introduction of Saturday departmental open days.

Dr Wilson has worked to foster a culture within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences that continually strives for excellence in the student experience.
