The aFLAME Disability Network aims to provide a space for disabled staff and research students to come together socially, discuss topics of interest and build connections across the University.
There are many possibilities for what we do together as a community with the shared experience of working and studying with a disability. We can:
- share experiences and information
- contribute and help shape University policies and establish good working practices on disability
- meet socially
- invite speakers.
Meetings are a mix of in-person and online. There will be a combination of social chats and more structured talks as the network develops.
Otter Baker, Teaching Fellow in the Skills Centre, said:
“I’ve set up the network up because I feel strongly that disabled members of staff and PGR students will benefit from networking with each other and that we can make a significant contribution to the University. I’m enjoying working with other staff and research students to get the network off the ground."
If you are interested in getting involved please contact Otter.
